Self-guided walking over four days along the Fishermen's Trail of the Rota Vicentina from Porto Covo to Odeceixe.

The best periods to undertake this tour are in the autumn from September to November and in the spring from March until the end of June.
This package includes: 5 nights bed and breakfast, 4 simple packed lunches + 1.5 l of water each day, baggage transfers during tour, emergency support phone line, 4x4 emergency support vehicle, walk information pack, obligatory personal accident insurance.
We also provide detailed information about public transport to the region from Faro and Lisbon or a taxi/minibus transfer from either Faro or Lisbon airports can be arranged.
Excluding: flights, airport transfers (unless requested), travel insurance, dinners, other drinks, personal expenses and gratuities. Omissions or exclusions from this list does not infer that such items are included.
Day one: Arrival in the Alentejo. Overnighting in the coastal village of Porto Covo at a family owned inn in the centre of the village.
Day two: Welcome meeting after breakfast at your guest house before the first walk from Porto Covo das Bandeiras to Vila Nova de Milfontes. A 20 km (6-7 hours) hike starting from the northernmost point of the Fishermen's Trail. You will spend the night at a small hotel or guest house near to the old historic centre of the village, close to the castle.
Day three: Vila Nova de Milfontes to Almograve. A 15 km (4½-5 hours) easy walk continuing on the Fishermen's Trail along the coast. You will spend the night at a delightful guest house situated just behind the sand dunes.
Day four: Almograve to Zambujeira do Mar. A 21km (6-7 hours) walk heading south from Almograve, passing through the village of Cavaleiro and the historic Cabo Sardão lighthouse. You will spend the night at a small guest house close to the village centre.
Day five: Zambujeira do Mar to Odeceixe. An 18 km (5½-6 hours) walk along a coastal path, visiting the fishing village of Azenha do Mar. You will spend the night at a small guest house close to the river.
Day six: Departure from Odeceixe.
There is also an option to spend an extra night at Odeceixe to be able to take a 15 km circular walk from the village along a short section of the Historical Way and returning to the village via the northernmost loop of the Fishermen's Trail in the Algarve.
A rest day in the middle of the programme is a frequent request, this can always be arranged. Stay a second night at Almograve, where you can spend a day on the beach or around the pool.
